A very, very rare mug by John Aynsley of Lane End. The transfer has the date of 9th January 1788.
The height of the mug is 5 inches and whilst there has been some restoration to the body and handle. The image is remarkably detailed. Each character is numbered and named – odd letters have a little enhancement.
